Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade believes Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose is “explosive in a different way now.”

Rose, who signed a two-year deal with the Pistons this summer in free agency, has undergone four knee surgeries since becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history back in 2011 with the Chicago Bulls.

However, Rose remains one of the quickest players in the league and an elite finisher at the rim. Wade, who is retired now, says the former MVP still has a lot left in the tank, which is a good sign for the Pistons.

“He’s explosive in a different way now,” Wade told Brandon ‘Scoop B' Robinson of Heavy. “He plays the game with so much smarts and his pace is incredible. He’s explosive underneath the basket just as good as he was above. He still has a lot left in the tank.”

Last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Derrick Rose averaged 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. The Chicago native shot 48.2 percent overall and 37.0 percent from the 3-point line.

Rose made history last season in Minnesota, becoming the first NBA player since 1983 to score at least 917 points in fewer than 1,400 minutes. D-Rose also scored a career-high 50 points on Halloween against the Utah Jazz, a performance which captivated the NBA considering what he's been through injury wise.

The Pistons are looking forward to adding Rose to the team, as he will provide instant buckets when he comes into the game.
