Jaden Ivey couldn't have had a better start to his Detroit Pistons career. The rookie lit up summer league with his tantalizing talent, which was on full display in an opening round clash against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Ivey poured in 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists en route to an 81-78 win. But it was the way he got his box score numbers that truly impressed, showing off his dynamic passing and highflying athleticism that have people seeing a future star:

Jaden Ivey tweeted a message afterwards that will get Pistons fans hyped for what's to come with their newest star guard joining Cade Cunningham and co. in Motown:

“Detroit vs everybody ✍🏾,” said Ivey after the game.

The Detroit Pistons didn't draw any NBA lottery luck for the 2022 draft, dropping to fifth in the draft order. But it could very well turn into a blessing in disguise with Jaden Ivey falling right into their lap.

Most saw Ivey as the consensus fourth-best prospect in the draft and with Cade Cunningham serving as a jumbo point guard, matching him up with a backcourt talent like Ivey who could play off the ball could turn out to be a match made in heaven.

The Pistons have largely underwhelmed ever since the days of Chauncey Billups and Ben Wallace. They made the playoffs just twice since 2010 and have never made it past the first round.

With two potential franchise cornerstones already on the roster, a potential resurgence could be looming in Detroit.
