The Detroit Pistons are looking to add size and athleticism to their roster, and one of their potential targets is free agent big man JaVale McGee. According to NBA Insider Chris Haynes, both sides are expected to meet tomorrow to discuss a potential deal.

McGee played for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, putting up 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game. If the Pistons will be able to sign him, they will have an excellent backup for both Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond.

Although McGee's already played 11 years in the league, he still brings a lot to the table for Detroit. He's an experienced veteran that has already won two championships as a member of the Golden State Warriors. He's still very athletic and can block shots at an elite level, and most importantly, he can provide quality minutes off the bench.

The Pistons did relatively well during the first day of free agency. They have already signed point guard Derrick Rose, and adding McGee will definitely help them improve a little bit more. Detroit wants to build a solid supporting cast around to core of Griffin, Drummond, and Reggie Jackson, and that's exactly what they're trying to accomplish right now.

Although no deal is imminent, expect the Pistons to close the deal with McGee shortly after their meeting. They cannot afford to let this opportunity slip away, especially since almost all of the mid-tier free agents are already signed to another team.
