The Detroit Pistons logged their first win of the new year on Friday, courtesy of a Jerami Grant dagger in overtime against the Phoenix Suns.
It was a close encounter between two determined sides, and in the end, it was Grant's heroics that lifted Detroit to a key win.
Here's a look at Grant's crucial trey that gave the Pistons a six-point lead with just 18 seconds remaining in overtime:

Jerami Grant had a tremendous performance in the game, finishing with 31 points on 10-of-15 shooting and 8-of-11 from the charity stripe. The 26-year-old also logged three triples, 10 rebounds, two assists, a block, and two turnovers in 42 minutes of action.
Grant, who joined the Pistons in the offseason as a free agent, has been nothing short of amazing early this 2020-21. The 6-foot-8 forward is in the midst of a breakout campaign, putting up averages of 24.0 points (career-high) on 44.4 percent shooting, 6.0 rebounds (career-high), 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocks through eight games, while also connecting on 2.6 triples (career-high) per game on a 34.4-percent clip.
Needless to say, Grant is proving to the Pistons that he's worth every penny of his three-year, $60 million deal.
Friday's win is the Pistons' first victory in 2021 and their second on the season. They now improve to 2-7 to open the campaign.
