The Detroit Pistons suffered another defeat on Thursday, as they fell to the Los Angeles Clippers, 126-112. This was Detroit's third consecutive loss and eighth in the last 10 games, dropping them to 12-23 on the season.

Pistons owner Tom Gores is a realist who admits that there might be some huge changes in store for his team:

“Well, we have to look at everything because we're not winning, so you're not winning, to me, you have to assess everything. I think anybody would want to do that,” he said, via Rod Beard of The Detroit News. “And probably in the next month or so, we're going to get together as an organization and just discuss things.”

The Pistons have struggled all season due to a variety of reasons, with injuries to guys like Blake Griffin and Reggie Jackson playing an especially key role. It is worth noting, however, that despite their poor showing, the team is currently just three and a half games outside the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. If they are able to string together a few wins, they might just be able to turn their season around.

Nevertheless, as Gores implied above, he has no aspirations for another mediocre season. It is becoming more and more evident that this team's current core is not built for long-term success, so at this point, it is completely understandable that the front office is already considering pushing the reset button.

This could very well mean that the Pistons may be active sellers as the Feb. 6 trade deadline approaches, with players like Andre Drummond and Derrick Rose on the block.
