Detroit Pistons guard Reggie Bullock suffered minor injuries during a car accident on Sunday morning, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.

Per Beard, Bullock was on his way to a team practice in Auburn Hills when his car was involved in an accident on Adams Road.

“He got hit and the other driver took off,” Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said. “He didn’t practice; he’s traveling but what he’ll be able to do, I don’t know.

Van Gundy said Bullock was taken to a hospital in order to get treated for minor injuries before going to the Pistons' practice facility.

“He’s OK,” Van Gundy said. “He’s here but he’s banged up and he has back spasms.”

Bullock has been having a career year for the Pistons this season as he's taken on a bigger role since the departure of Avery Bradley in the big Blake Griffin trade. The 26-year-old is averaging 10.7 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting 43 percent on 3-pointers in his 51 appearances (41 starts) with the squad this season.

Bullock was coming off another impressive performance as he scored 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting in a 99-83 win over the Chicago Bulls. That was Bullock's second 21-point game in a row and his third in five games this month.

Luckily for Bullock, he didn't sustain more serious injuries which could have derailed what has been a fine season. Moreover, he will still have a few days to recover from his injuries before the Pistons have to play again. Detroit will next play on Tuesday as they travel to the Utah Jazz to start a grueling six-game Western road trip.
