Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson is going to miss Andre Drummond, who was his best friend on the team.

The Pistons traded Drummond to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday:

“He was my best friend on the team and it’s been like that for 5½ years. He acclimated me when I first got to Detroit and we built a great friendship and brotherhood,” Jackson said, via The Detroit News.

“That’s my guy forever, so it was a tough day seeing he got traded to the Cavs but wishing him nothing but the best for him and his family.”

The Pistons wound up keeping Jackson, Derrick Rose, Markieff Morris and Luke Kennard despite all four players being in the rumor mill.

Jackson's future with the Pistons is still up in the air, though. There have been a few reports which have said the guard might get a buyout with Detroit so he can join a contender.

The Pistons had to trade Drummond, even though they got a weak return. The franchise is building for the future and having a big man making a lot of money who doesn't impact winning wasn't going to help the Pistons get any better.
