Detroit Pistons fans will have to wait longer to watch their foreign first-round pick, Sekou Doumbouya, play in the NBA's Summer League.

Doumbouya, the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, is day-to-day with a right hamstring injury, per The Detroit News' Rod Beard.

The 18-year-old forward was set to make his Las Vegas Summer League debut — and first public bow in the United States following his French league career — but the hamstring injury will ostensibly push back his appearance in the semi-pro showcase.

The 6-foot-9 Doumbouya is a lanky yet athletic specimen that the Pistons drafted in the first round due to his high upside. Make no mistake, though; he is still a very raw prospect who will need intense player development and focus.

The Pistons, without the French expat Doumbouya, defeated the Croatian men's national team 96-80 in the Motor City's first Vegas tilt on Friday.

Detroit also added a few pieces this offseason, including Tony Snell (acquired from the Milwaukee Bucks), Derrick Rose (two-year deal) and Markieff Morris (two-year deal).

The Pistons are currently juggling a few pieces in the air, waiting to see if they will mesh come regular season in October. For now, though, they hope Sekou's hamstring heals and they can get the first glimpse of how Doumbouya competes against fringe NBA talent in the Summer League.
