Jerami Grant of the Detroit Pistons is well on his way to a breakout season with his new team. On Tuesday, the 26-year-old wing put up an impressive stat line of 32 points, five rebounds and four assists on the way to upsetting the Brooklyn Nets.

While doing so, Grant hit an impressive statistical feat, according to Austin Drake of Fox Sports Detroit:

Pistons big man Mason Plumlee, who followed Jerami Grant to Detroit from Denver, had some high praises for the 26-year-old following their impressive win against the Nets, per Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press:

“He’s really a tough cover for any team and he’s doing this with the attention of the defensive game plan. It’s not a surprise anymore, teams know about him and he’s still coming in and getting his numbers,” Plumlee shared of his Pistons teammate.

Certainly, Grant is playing tremendously well in his seventh season after bouncing around between three different teams in his previous six seasons. Grant was drafted by that factory of draft picks, the Process-era Philadelphia 76ers, who took him in the second round with the 39th overall pick.

Grant was then traded in 2016 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he established himself as an athletic, swiss-army-knife defender. Then, in the playoffs with the Nuggets in  2019-20, he proved himself to be a capable offensive creator as well as a No. 1 defender against the league’s top wings.

The Syracuse alum parlayed that great play in the NBA’s bubble to a big payday from the Pistons: three years for $60 million.

So far, Jerami Grant is living up to that contract and more, as he’s putting up 24.0 points, 5.6 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists per game on a 58.4 true shooting percentage.
