Detroit Pistons' Zaza Pachulia has been fined $25,000 for confronting and verbally abusing a game official and failing to leave the court after he was ejected late in the third quarter.

Zaza Pachulia was given two technical fouls with 2:27 left in the third quarter of the Pistons' 112-107 overtime win against the Toronto Raptors. Instead of leaving the court immediately, he continued to argue with the game officials and did not want to back down. It took at least a minute or two before Zaza finally went to the locker room.

He finished the game scoreless in ten minutes, though he did have four rebounds.

His ejection did not have any effect on the Pistons, as they were able to get an important win against one of the best teams in the East. Blake Griffin had 27 points and seven rebounds to lead Detroit, Reggie Jackson and Luke Kennard added 19 points each while Andre Drummond had a monster double-double with 15 points and 17 boards.

The Pistons continue to make a strong push towards the playoffs. After spending most of the season in the cellars of the standings, Detroit is now the sixth best team in the Eastern Conference — the spot previously held by the reeling Brooklyn Nets.

If the Pistons keep winning, they might just be able to take over the struggling Boston Celtics for the fifth spot in the East.
