With Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley emerging as one of the hottest targets as the trade deadline closes in, a number of teams are reportedly interested in acquiring the 31-year-old veteran.

One such team is the Detroit Pistons, who have engaged in talks with the Grizzlies to negotiate a deal for Conley, according to Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press.

Ellis went on to say that the Pistons might be willing to offer point guard Reggie Jackson and a first-round draft pick in order to acquire the services of Conley.

An earlier report suggested that the Utah Jazz are also in the running for Conley, with the team reportedly offering a package that includes Ricky Rubio and first-round pick. This is very similar to what the Pistons may be offering, but Rubio arguably has an edge over Jackson, so the Grizzlies may want to ask more from Detroit.

Conley is currently averaging 20.3 points (on 43.5 percent shooting), 2.2 3-pointers, 3.4 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.4 steals in 33.8 minutes per game. Despite being 31, he still remains in the upper tier of point guards in the league. He has spent all 12 seasons of his NBA career with the Grizzlies, but with the team looking to rebuild, he has suddenly become a dispensable asset.
