The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't had a good season and many might be able to take away many positives from what has happened this season. With Thanksgiving coming up it's important to look past all the bad and find some things to be thankful for.

Let's look at two things the Steelers can be thankful for.

2. This season is almost over

This season has been bad but the good news is with every game that passes, it's closer to being over. They do sit with a 6-5 record which actually puts them in the middle of the playoff race, but if they somehow did make the playoffs it's hard to imagine they would make it out of the wild card weekend.

The Steelers only have one win over their last three games and that was against the Cincinnati Bengals in their last game.

Even though some fans want the Steelers to continue to push for the playoff, the smarter move might be to start some of the younger guys, see if they should be in the team's future plans. At this point wins and losses probably don't matter because even though they are in the middle of the playoff race, it's hard to imagine they will make it.

1. Steelers secondary and TJ Watt

There haven't been many bright spots for the Steelers this year but if there is one group that hasn't been a weakness it's been the Steelers secondary.

On the season the Steelers are giving up only 217.2 yards per game, which ranks 8th in the NFL. The Steelers traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick earlier this season and even though they had to give a first-round draft pick, he is going to be a problem in Pittsburgh for a very long time.

Fitzpatrick is someone that offenses have to scheme against and on the season he already has five interceptions. The interceptions always seem to come at the right time, and he was worth a lot more than a first-round draft pick.

The Steelers also should be thankful for T.J. Watt who should be in consideration for defensive player of the year. On the season, he has totaled 11.5 sacks and when his contract is up he will probably be one of the highest-paid defenders in the NFL.

Next year is a new year and most of the key pieces of the defense should be back so the Steelers should be very thankful for the future.
