We’re getting some serious Fyre Festival déjà vu from the meals NBA players have been posting from Orlando, Florida. Now with Joe Ingles’ most recent food pic, it’s basically a sure thing both events had the same chef.

The Aussie swingman tweeted out this photo, with a caption that might sound a little more enthusiastic than he actually is to dine on whatever cuisine that is.

Denver Nuggets guard Troy Daniels is just biting the bullet for now. But I’m sure he’s hoping that the bites he’ll have after the imposed bubble quarantine will be much, much tastier.

Daniel’s meal set at least looks a bit more edible than Ingles’ does. But it still gives off the vibe that the bubble is being catered by a major airline.

However, there is reason to expect changes on the menu pretty soon in terms of the NBA player’s food. The New York Times insider Marc Stein reports that the dining situation changes entirely once the players have served their required quarantine time from their rooms.

Stein also adds that the players can finally expect the Disney hotels to actually bring their A-game at that point. The shoddy-looking NBA meal service might just be due to the extra precautions necessary. While it isn’t absolutely confirmed that all players who arrived are virus free, it’s better to be safe than sorry in terms of food containers versus plates that may be reused.

The NBA teams are split into three different hotels, but all of them definitely serve much better looking food on the regular to Disney-crazed tourists before the pandemic.

These hotels that the 22 teams are staying in are Disney World’s Gran Destino Tower, Grand Floridian, and The Yacht Club resorts. The decisions on who stays where were apparently based on team seeding.

Let’s just hope the players get a full, edible breakfast once the games actually start.
