The storyline in Pokemon Legends Arceus ties together a lot of lore elements, especially making several references to the Almighty Sinnoh (Dialga and Palkia) as well as Arceus itself. Unsurprisingly, players will be able to capture multiple Legendary Pokemon throughout the game. But if you're looking for Cresselia in Legends Arceus, you'll have to wait until the post-game to get a glimpse of this Legendary ‘mon—find out where its location is in Hisui and how to battle and catch Cresselia in this guide.

Where to find Cresselia in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Players will have to finish the main game first before they can find Cresselia in Hisui. You will need to speak to Volo who will take you to talk to Cogita. Cogita will give you a new quest called Mission 23: The Plate of the Moonview Arena. The quest will take you to Coronet Highlands where you will find Cresselia. Here are the steps to follow to find Cresselia's location in Legends Arceus.

  • In the post game, speak to Cogita and activate Mission 23.
  • Travel to Coronet Highlands. At this point in the game, you would have activated the fast-travel feature so you can open up the map and easily get over to the campsite on the west side (near Sacred Plaza).
  • From the campsite, move westward until you arrive in Moonview Arena.
  • Once you reach the arena, you'll see Warden Melli and a cut scene will start playing out. Afterwards, you will automatically head to Cresselia's lair.

How to catch Cresselia in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Finding Cresselia may be straightforward enough, but battling and catching the Psychic-type Legendary is another beast altogether. If you found the new controls in Legends Arceus quite wonky and difficult to grasp at the start, well now you'd have to deal with the controls in reverse. This is because Cresselia emanates a Psychic force field, getting your controls all topsy-turvy. To beat the Legendary and capture it, players will have to take a slow and steady approach to bring down this Psychic shield, the same way you would try to quell or calm down a Noble Pokemon.

  • Your controls will be reversed as soon as you step into the Legendary Pokemon's presence. So instead of pushing the joystick north to move forward, you actually have to hold it down to walk straight toward Cresselia.
  • When you get close enough to Cresselia, the shield will dissipate a bit, allowing you to throw a Pokeball (not your Pokemon) at it. Doing so will destroy the shield, giving you the opening to engage in battle with the Legendary ‘mon.
  • Once the Psychic force field is gone, throw your Pokemon at Cresselia to initiate the battle. Best to use Bug, Ghost, or Dark-type moves as these are super effective against the Psychic Legendary.
  • Try to induce status conditions or bring the health down to yellow or blinking red. Then throw a Pokeball—we recommend at least a Great Ball or Ultra Ball—to capture Cresselia.

The good thing is that once you break through the force field, you can just proceed as normal with the battle and keep chucking Pokeballs to catch the Legendary. The shield won't reset if your first attempt fails, so you can spam Pokeballs as much as is needed to finally capture Cresselia and add the Pokemon to your team.
