Pokémon fans are looking forward to the arrival of another new game, Pokémon Legends Arceus, this January. With the much-awaited release right around the corner, many will probably be wondering what the new Hisui region has in store. Besides the mystical landscapes and new battle system, trainers will be excited to encounter wild Pokémon of all types, including fascinating Hisuian forms like Zoroark and Voltorb. Here's what we know so far of all the Pokémon that will be available for you to capture in Legends Arceus so you can complete your Hisui Pokédex or figure out which ones catch your eye the most.
Pokémon Legends Arceus mixes Sinnoh Dex with fresh characters
Unlike the Black & White titles back in 5th gen, Pokémon Legends Arceus won't be limited to just Hisui-exclusive creatures. Instead, trainers can expect to find a mix of new Pokémon, old Pokémon from past generations and regions, and Hisuian forms of some selected old Pokémon—similar to Alolan Pokémon in Sun & Moon.
Legends Arceus is officially branded as the origin story for Sinnoh, or the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum line of games (including their recently released remakes Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl). As such, many of the available Pokémon in the Hisui Pokedex are also found in the Sinnoh Dex. This means trainers can get ready to catch fan-favorites like Lucario and Garchomp. No game in the franchise can go without classics like Pikachu and Eevee, so you'll also be able to meet them in Hisui. Meanwhile, the confirmed legendary Pokémon so far include Darkrai, Shaymin, and of course, the titular character—Arceus.
But there are also plenty of new additions to be excited about (not to mention the majestic looking graphics and the open world style of play). For example, starter Pokémon from other regions will be making an appearance. So far, we've seen the likes of Oshawott and Cyndaquil from the teasers, but we can probably expect other Johto and Unova starters to also be available.
As a disclaimer, though, GameFreak has not officially revealed the Hisui Pokedex. However, with all the teasers, press releases, and other promotional material released for Legends Arceus so far, fans can get a good idea of which Pokémon will be lurking in the wild in the region.
