Over the last couple of weeks, Pokemon Go has taken the world by storm with groups of adults, teens, and kids going out looking for (virtual) Pokemon. “What does this have to do with basketball?” you're probably asking yourself right about now. Well, let me tell you.
A few years ago, NBAmixes.com posted NBA Logos x Pokemon mashups for both Eastern and Western conference teams. So here are a few of the mashups that I absolutely loved as I went through:
Toronto Raptors (Charmeleon)
Talk about the perfect couple for a mashup; the Raptors and a Charmeleon are a match made in heaven. This could legitimately be a team's logo if there was indeed a city named Kanto with an NBA team. Plus, I just evolved my starter Pokemon, Charmander, on Pokemon Go so that's why it's listed first.
Miami Heat (Flareon)
This is one of the really well-done mashups that I wouldn't mind putting as my screensaver if I was a Heat fan. I also have a soft spot for Flareon too, and this design of its head is the perfect replacement for the flaming basketball.
Houston Rockets (Team Rocket)
There's not much to say here… Seeing how this is pretty obvious of a mashup.
