The 2020 NFL Draft is nearly two weeks removed and some teams — more than others — came away with optimism for next season. For the NFC North, there were a couple instances that took place during the draft that could affect the 2020 season.

Prior to delving into what could transpire next season, it's important to note that the Green Bay Packers are the reigning NFC North champions. While the Packers were in the NFC Championship Game, the Minnesota Vikings were quickly dispatched in the NFC Divisional Round a season ago.

As for the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, both of them fell short of reaching the postseason in 2019. Taking all of that into consideration, let's take a look at how the NFC North could shake out in the upcoming season following the 2020 NFL Draft.

1. Green Bay Packers

Early in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Packers turned some heads, trading up to select Jordan Love out of Utah State. Instead of adding more weapons for Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay chose to find his possible successor.

Nonetheless, none of the NFC North seemingly did enough to dethrone the Packers as the most well-rounded team in the division this offseason. Despite the uproar from fans in Green Bay, the Packers should win the NFC North once again in 2020.

2. Minnesota Vikings

Unlike the Packers, the Vikings were applauded for their results in the 2020 NFL Draft. Throughout the draft, Minnesota was able to notably select Justin Jefferson, Jeff Gladney, and Ezra Cleveland.

Still, even though they came away with an impressive haul in the draft, the Vikings have undergone quite a few changes — especially on the defensive side of the ball. With that being said, Minnesota could very well see themselves as the second-best team in the NFC North again.

3. Chicago Bears

It's a fair question to ask whether or not the Bears have any clue in what they are doing next season. Prior to the draft, Chicago traded for Nick Foles and inexplicably signed Jimmy Graham to a two-year deal.

Then, in the draft, the Bears decided to select Cole Kmet — yet another tight end — with the No. 43 pick in the second round. Unless Chicago finds success with five tight ends on the field at all times, it's hard to envision their offense matching the talent of their defense.

4. Detroit Lions

There's no doubt that the Lions are going into a pivotal season for their franchise, with Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn on the hot seat. At the least, Detroit actually came away with an impressive haul in the draft.

In just their first four picks, the Lions were able to select Jeffrey Okudah, D'Andre Swift, Julian Okwara, and Jonah Jackson. While all of them could be an immediate difference-maker in 2020, until Detroit proves otherwise, they'll continue to sit at the bottom of the NFC North.
