The 2021 MLB season is getting underway on Thursday and the Texas Rangers have decided to allow their stadium to operate at full capacity to open the season. When asked about the Rangers' decision, President Joe Biden was not supportive of their choice of allowing full fan capacity on Opening Day.

“Well, that's a decision they made. I think it's a mistake,” Biden said, via ESPN's Alden Gonzalez. “They should listen to Dr. [Anthony] Fauci, the scientists and the experts. But I think it's not responsible.”

Biden went on ESPN ahead of Opening Day to speak about the importance of wearing masks and abiding by the protocols given by officials. He also gave his opinion on the Rangers choosing to welcome a packed stadium in their home opener on April 5 against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Globe Life Field, the home of the Rangers, seats a total of 40,300 people at full capacity. While Texas has elected to admit fans with no restrictions in place, no other team in the MLB is doing the same for their home openers.

With Biden and the current administration rolling out vaccines, having professional teams have full stadiums already seems to be counterproductive to his message. Even though the Rangers have shown no interest in changing their decision, it's evident that Biden isn't a fan of what they've chosen to do when it comes to their home games.
