After a miraculous performance in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals last week, PSG did just enough to advance past Bayern Munich in the reverse fixture on Tuesday.

Despite losing 1-0, their three away goals in Munich played a crucial part, allowing the French giants to progress on aggregate, 3-3. There were numerous opportunities for PSG to score at the Parc des Princes, with Neymar banging the woodwork twice in the first half.

Mbappe also had his fair share of chances, but the Bayern backline stood strong. The Germans dominated on the ball but severely struggled to net a winner, collecting a total of five shots on target.

The absence of star striker Robert Lewandowski definitely hurt the current title-holders, with Eric Choupo-Mouting filling in for the Pole. He did score in each tie but lacked the presence that Bayern really needed to get past PSG.

As for the Parisians, their quest for Champions League glory continues after suffering a 1-0 defeat in last year's final at the hands of Munich. Mauricio Pochettino's side awaits the winner of Manchester City and Dortmund, who clash for their second leg on Wednesday. The Citizens currently lead 2-1 on aggregate heading to Germany.

Bayern is now winless in their last three competitive matches after Union Berlin held them over the weekend in Bundesliga action. They will now focus on securing yet another league title, while PSG remains in Europe's most prized competition.
