The future of Paris Saint-Germain superstar striker Kylian Mbappe has been a constant talking point throughout the 2021-22 season. Despite the heavy advances from Spanish giants Real Madrid, PSG managed to hold onto Mbappe and form the elite attacking trio of Neymar, Mbappe, and Lionel Messi.

It's been a mixed bag of results for the French side thus far, with the only real constant being the never-ending transfer rumors regarding the 22-year-old. Via Fabrizio Romano, Mbappe made a revealing comment regarding his future in the French capital on Sunday.

While PSG fans are probably beginning to sweat right about now, fans of Real Madrid are licking their chops. Real Madrid launched multiple massive bids this summer in efforts of bringing Mbappe to Los Blancos in 2021 but their efforts were denied by the club.

PSG have been hoping they'd be able to convince Mbappe to stay with the club and sign him to a long-term deal, but are at real risk of losing the superstar talent via a free transfer at the end of the year. His latest comments don't bode well towards the odds of him remaining with his current club.

Should he decline Paris' contract advances and become a free agent, he will be one of the most sought-after players in the history of the open market, and virtually any club with finances capable of managing his wages will be eager to get him on their books.

This season, Mbappe has been his usual excellent self for the French club. In league play, Mbappe has featured in 16 matches, scoring seven goals and assisting nine.
