Tencent announced that the finals of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship are headed to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The best PUBG Mobile teams from around the world duked it out but only sixteen teams will have a chance for the title. The grand champion will be walking away with bragging rights as world champions and the USD 1.3 million cash prize.

It's an exciting time for the mobile version of the game that started the whole Battle Royale craze. The platform may have changed, but at its heart, PUBG Mobile is every bit the exciting game as its PC predecessor. The LAN event kicks off in January 2021. Fans speculate that the event may take place in the Coca-Cola Arena which was featured at the end of a promotional video. The arena has a maximum capacity of 17,000 people so it'll have plenty of space for Battle Royale chaos.

This is not the first time the hit mobile game held a tournament in Dubai. PUBG Mobile held its first international event in the city in 2018 during the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge 2018 event. PMSC 2018 boasted a respectable USD 200,000 cash prize and saw many exciting games. Fortunately, Dubai fans of PUBG Mobile, an even grander tournament is set to invade their city come January 2021. Fans can expect the organizers to reveal more information about the tournament as the date fast approaches.
