After falling short against the upstart Cincinnati Bengals during Super Wild Card weekend, the Las Vegas Raiders will be looking to make some roster altering moves this offseason. Considering everything this team went through, the fact that they were still able to battle through all the adversity and nab a wild card spot is an amazing feat in itself.

With the competition revving up in the ultra-competitive AFC, the Raiders will definitely have their work cut out for them this spring as they aim to improve their roster and claim the AFC West crown in 2023. Let us now take a look at the three major fixes the Raiders must make this offseason if they’re to win the Super Bowl next season.

Raiders Road To Super Bowl 57

The Raiders must add a new no.1 receiver

Zay Jones, Hunter Renfrow, and Darren Waller all played incredibly well for the Raiders this year, but after they were forced to part ways with Henry Ruggs III earlier this season, this left an opening at the wide receiver spot that they’ll need to fill in the offseason. With superstar wideouts Davante Adams, Chris Godwin, and Mike Williams all set to hit the free agent market this year, the Raiders should definitely be amongst the first few teams to make a bid for one of these Pro Bowl receivers.

Doing all they can to beat out the competition and sign an elite deep threat is vital to their offensive success next season. Adding the likes of Adams, Godwin, or Williams to their already explosive receiving corps of Jones, Renfrow, and Waller would catapult the Raiders to Super Bowl contenders and give them a realistic shot at winning it all in 2023.

Las Vegas is in need of a new GM

Now that the Raiders have fired Mike Mayock after just three seasons on the job, finding his replacement should be one of their top priorities heading into the 2022 NFL offseason. Finding a trusting and established presence for the general manager role is of utter importance for Las Vegas if they want to continually progress and make sound moves during free agency, draft night, and at the trade deadline.

This is a role that they must fill as soon as humanly possible if they’re hoping to make some quality additions to their roster moving forward. There’s no doubt that they’ll have plenty of suitors for the job, but they also must be thoughtful and strategic through this process because they don’t want to settle for another short-term partnership that could put them at a disadvantage once again in the next few years.

The team should bring back Rich Bisaccia as their full-time head coach

After a ton of controversy and unfortunate circumstances earlier this season that took the league by complete surprise and put the Raiders in a tough spot, this gave Rich Bisaccia a slew of challenges to deal with. Under Bisaccia’s direction, the Raiders were able to turn things around and save their season. Derek Carr was able to re-discover his talents and put up Pro Bowl type numbers once again as the Raiders were able to nab a wild card spot and came within one touchdown of beating the high-powered Cincinnati Bengals in the 2022 AFC Wild Card round.

This in itself is an accomplishment after everything this team went through in the middle of the season. Bisaccia’s poise, patience, and demeanor all were attributes that won over the team’s respect and allowed them to reach new heights and elevate their play during the second half of the regular season. If given the opportunity to coach Las Vegas for an entire year, Bisaccia would not disappoint and could turn this squad into a perennial powerhouse.
