The fireworks came early during Sunday’s matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders, though we’re not talking about offense here. During the Oakland's second possession of the contest, Raiders wide receiver Michael Crabtree and Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib renewed their on-field animosity by engaging in an altercation that resulted into the two getting ejected in the first quarter.

Prior to their ejections, Crabtree and Talib exchanged shoves and traded some blows that precipitated into the teams’ benches almost emptying with several players going to the field in hopes of pacifying the two combating players.

Apart from Crabtree and Talib, game officials also sent Raiders right guard Gabe Jackson for making contact with an official, per Michael Gehlken of Las Vegas Review-Journal.

It’s worth noting that this wasn’t the first time that Crabtree and Talib were involved in a skirmish with each other. Back in January, Talib snatched Crabtree’s chain necklace, which happened again Sunday.

If anything, the Raiders got the last laugh in this one, as they gave Denver its seventh-straight defeat with a 21-14 win.

It’s still unknown whether any suspensions will be handed out in relation to Sunday’s row, and if there are, it’ll likely impact the Raiders more than the Broncos. Oakland is still in contention for the AFC West title with a 5-6 record, while the Broncos are in the bottom of the division standings with a 3-8 record.

Nevertheless, we continue to learn the same lesson over and over in this rivalry. If you're going to wear a chain, Talib is going to try to snatch it.
