Heading into Sunday's critical matchup against the Kansas Chiefs, the Oakland Raiders appear that they will be without star wide receiver Amari Cooper.

According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, Cooper is expected to miss Week 14 action due to a left ankle injury despite clearing the concussion protocol.

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs as he continues to recover from a left ankle injury, a source told ESPN.

It has been a difficult last couple of week and a half for Cooper having to deal with both a concussion and ankle injury that he suffered on the same play against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 26. However, it is encouraging that has been able to get out of the concussion protocol leaving his ankle being the only real concern.

The 23-year-old has struggled to provide consistent production this season. Beyond his huge performance against the Chiefs back in Week 7 where he recorded in 11 catches for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Cooper has been mainly a non-factor. He has notched fewer than 65 yards in the other 10 games played this season while currently posting 42 catches for 499 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

With Cooper out of the lineup, wide receiver Michael Crabtree will become the primary target in the passing game. Meanwhile, tight end Jared Cook and Seth Roberts could be relied upon heavily by quarterback Derek Carr.
