On Sunday night Oakland Raiders general manager Mike Mayock made some very pointed comments towards Antonio Brown saying the team had exhausted all options in terms of the helmet and at this point, he needs to decide if he is all in or all out.

Brown's agent Drew Rosenhaus appeared a few hours later on WSVN-TV that he doesn't quite agree with Mayock's comment about exhausting all the options.

“We’ve worked very closely with the Raiders, and we will continue to work very closely with the Raiders,” agent Drew Rosenhaus said via Pro Football Talk. “I’m not sure that we agree that we’ve exhausted all the options, as [Raiders G.M.] Mike Mayock said. But there’s no doubt it’s still an ongoing process.

“We are trying to work with the team and the league and the union to come up with a solution. We haven’t figured it out yet. To say that AB is upset about the decision to not let him wear his helmet is accurate, but we’re still processing it and figuring it out. I wouldn’t make too much about him not being there today, as much as we’re still trying to come up with a solution that works for everyone.”

At this point, it seems there are not many options left for Brown. He could try to file a grievance saying he wasn't given the one year grace period to phase out his old helmet but that only pushes the problem down the road farther.

Brown will probably end up having to find a new helmet or going through on his threat to retire from the league. It still seems unlikely that Brown is willing to give away that much money over a helmet, but weirder things have happened before.
