Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard didn't like what he witnessed during the Las Vegas Raiders' Week 5 loss to the Chicago Bears. Now, he wants his favorite NFL team to consider signing Cam Newton.

Lillard made the endorsement following Derek Carr's poor showing and apparent injury in the 20-9 defeat to the Bears. The Las Vegas starting QB struggled all game long, finishing with no touchdown and one interception.

Carr did complete 62.9 percent of his passes (22-of-35) for 206 yards, but his inability to hit his targets at the right moments is a big reason the Raiders weren't able to put up a good fight.

Dame Time, who has always been a huge Raiders fan, took to Twitter to express his disappointment about the results of the game. He noted that targeting is a big problem for Las Vegas, and with Carr  possibly getting sidelined with concussion, it might be time to bring in Newton.

Cam Newton is still without a team after the New England Patriots released him before the 2021 season started. The former NFL MVP has been a shell of his old self since his foot injury and eventual exit from the Carolina Panthers.

In his lone season with the Patriots, he managed just eight passing touchdowns in 15 games (all starts). After New England drafted Mac Jones in the 2021 NFL draft, the team figured it would be best to give the rookie the keys to the offense instead of letting him play behind Newton.

Of course Newton has kept himself ready for another opportunity in the NFL. However, it remains to be seen if he can recapture his old form that made him a three-time Pro Bowler.

It is still unknown what the Raiders will do considering Derek Carr's condition and whether they need to sign  Cam Newton. But if they would ask their biggest fan in Damian Lillard, the Blazer star would probably say they should at least take a look.
