Los Angeles Rams superstar Aaron Donald finally got his massive new contract after a long wait. And after Odell Beckham Jr. and Aaron Rodgers also got paid this week, that now leaves Oakland Raiders stud Khalil Mack as the most high-profile star without a new deal.

That fact isn’t lost on Raiders teammate Bruce Irvin, who had a simple message to his team’s higher ups about Mack shortly after news of the Donald deal got out.

Based on his track record, Mack has done just as much to earn the record-setting contract that Donald just got. He’s never missed a game in his entire career. He’s racked up double-digit sacks in three-straight seasons and has been named First-Team All-Pro twice. He even won Defensive Player of the Year a year earlier than Donald.

Unfortunately for Mack, it doesn’t seem as if he’s going to get his deal anytime soon. Recent reports suggest that he and the Raiders have not progressed on contract talks and haven’t even had an offer on the table since February. That’s led to him considering the extreme measure of sitting out regular-season games.

It’s possible that Donald’s deal puts some more pressure on the Raiders to jumpstart negotiations with their defensive superstar. Although, that might be wishful thinking. To this point, the Raiders have seemed uninterested in re-signing Mack to the deal he’s looking for, and after seeing the massive contract Donald got to set the market, they may be even less inclined to do so.
