Just one day after coming out as gay, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Carl Nassib has seen his jersey sales absolutely skyrocket. Via Adam Schefter, Nassib's shirt has been the top-selling jersey on Fanatics across the last two days.

Nassib released a video on Instagram on Monday to make the announcement just in time for pride month. Here is part of it:

“What’s up people,” Carl Nassib said, per Boston Globe. “I’m at my house in West Chester Pennsylvania. I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that I’m gay. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while now, but finally feel comfortable getting it off my chest. I really have the best life, the best family, friends and job a guy can ask for.”

Carl Nassib is now the first active NFL athlete to come out. There have been several others who have done it in the past like former Rams draft pick Michael Sam, who failed to every play a game in the league.

As he said in his post, Nassib hopes that his courageous move will open up the door for more athletes to not be afraid of coming out in their respective sports. The fact that Carl Nassib has seen his jersey sell at an insane rate goes to show the support he has with his decision.
