The Oakland Raiders are on pace to officially the make a move to Las Vegas when their $1.9 billion stadium opens up at some point in 2020.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Raiders will finally break ground for their new arena on Monday afternoon.

The Las Vegas Stadium Authority board has already agreed to permit the team's contractors to begin the pre-construction process on the site. However, the Raiders are limited to just the pre-construction procedures until the organization can finalize a deal with the Las Vegas Stadium Authority and Clark County.

There has been plenty of buzz and excitement around the eventual move of the Raiders to Las Vegas, which has never housed an NFL team. They have called Oakland home since January 1960 with the majority of that time spent at the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum while also spending a brief period in Los Angeles (1982–1994).

The proposed location for the new stadium is 62.5 acres site that is situated near Interstate 15 by the Las Vegas McCarran Airport and the Las Vegas Strip.

In order for the Raiders to move in on their current timetable of the 2020 season, there must continue to be no setbacks in any step of the process.
