For much of his career, Oakland Raiders former Pro Bowl running back Marshawn Lynch has developed the reputation as being one of the hardest runners that the league has seen. This has remained to be his calling card even as he has moved past the prime.

During a recent airing of an episode of the “All or Nothing” series that followed the Dallas Cowboys this past season, linebacker Sean Lee broke down film on how to prepare for Lynch in the Week 15 matchup to which he gave a quite thorough and blunt analysis.

”He's got a great kind of sidestep. You got to tackle him or he will sidestep out so when you hit him you got to keep your feet driving. If you go low, you better grab a leg. If you cut him you will hit him and bounce right off. He’s got speed. He’s faster than you want him to be and he’s heavier than you want him to be. He’s got this thing when he cuts, he will f***ing punch you right in your face and put you on your ass. My point is when I hit him it’s everything I got and I’m driving my feet and holding on for dear life. If you go low grab that leg and hold on for everything.”

Despite spending a year in retirement, Lynch is still performing at a high level putting together a respectable 2017 campaign where he finished with 891 rushing yards with seven rushing touchdowns in 15 games played. This included recording more than 100 rushing yards twice, and more than 60 yards in each of the last seven games he took the field.

With a full offseason under his belt to prepare for the 2018 season, he could be in store for another highly productive season that could feature several bruising runs. Lynch should have plenty of opportunities to do so with head coach Jon Gruden already voicing his excitement about working with the former Pro Bowler.

If anything, this further proves that Lynch still holds a strong reputation for being a difficult task to take down for opposing defenses around the league.
