The Oakland Raiders have a new all-time passing leader. Quarterback Derek Carr now stands atop the franchise in that category.

Carr did so after a second quarter completion to tight end Darren Waller against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2.

Carr has been under much scrutiny over the last few years. That's made many wonder how much longer he'll be the quarterback. This could be his final year, in fact.

However, even if that is the case, he's definitely made his mark on the franchise.

The Raiders took home a victory in Week 1 but face an extremely tough matchup in the Chiefs in Week 2. Currently, they're losing. Anything can happen in the NFL though – and maybe Carr can bring some magic to the offense with his new standing in team lore.

No matter what you have to say about Derek Carr, there's now something you absolutely can't take away from him. He's the all-time passing yards leader in franchise history. Above elite names including Rich Gannon and Ken Stabler.

Last year saw him post his first season of 4,000-plus passing yards. Clearly, he's still a very good quarterback despite all the talk. There's a chance he expands his new lead in the category pretty heavily before the end of the year.

Even if Carr is out after 2019, it appears he'll have a pretty solid lead on the Raiders passing yards list. With this being his sixth year on the team (all as the starter), he's had a lot of time to build up the numbers.

With that in mind, someone will need to be the steady starter for years to sniff those numbers. It looks like it will be a little bit of time before anyone dethrones him.
