Henry Ruggs III may have generated the headlines, but he was not the only wide receiver the Las Vegas Raiders took in the NFL Draft late last month.

The Raiders also selected University of South Carolina wideout Bryan Edwards in the third round, and quarterback Derek Carr is very excited about Edwards' potential.

As a matter of fact, Carr compared Edwards to Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin:

“He tries to run everybody over, right? He plays the receiver position with such a physical presence,” Carr told Vic Tafur of The Athletic. “He reminds me of Anquan Boldin, his stiff arms and him just running through people. Larry Fitzgerald, the physicality that he plays with in the run game and the blocking and all of those kind of things. And he has those traits. Obviously, he’s not those guys yet. He’s a rookie, but he definitely has those traits and some ball skills.”

At 6-foot-3, 212 pounds, Edwards is certainly an impressive physical specimen.

The 21-year-old arrived at South Carolina in 2016 and made an impact right off the bat, logging 44 catches for 590 yards and four touchdowns. The following season, Edwards' role increased, and he hauled in 64 receptions for 793 yards and five scores.

His production somewhat stalled during his junior and senior campaigns, as Edwards posted similar numbers as he did during his sophomore year, but he remained consistent.

Las Vegas entered the draft in desperate need of receiving help, and in Ruggs and Edwards, it certainly landed a couple of guys who can assist Carr quite a bit in 2020.
