For the first time in two-and-a-half decades, the Raiders will not be playing in Oakland. The Raiders will begin their 2020 campaign in Las Vegas, and Derek Carr is already making big plans in the team's new location:

“Through everything the heart has never changed,” Carr wrote in a post on his Instagram account. “One mission. One goal. To be a champion. We can rest another day. Let's get it now. Put the work in. Improve. Win more games period. It has to be done. @raiders #NeverChanged #HungrierThanEver”

Of course, there was a whole lot of speculation earlier this offseason that the Raiders could potentially move on from Carr, and trade rumors began to swirl around the quarterback.

However, now that most of the dust has settled, it's looking more and more like Carr will be under center for Las Vegas in Week 1 of next season, and Carr is prepared for it.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Fresno State, was originally selected by the Raiders in the second round (36th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Carr was immediately named the starting signal-caller during his rookie campaign. It didn't take long for him to flash his talent, as he made the Pro Bowl as soon as his second season after throwing for 3,987 yards, 32 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Then, in 2016, Carr led the Raiders to their first playoff appearance since the 2002-03 season, finishing with 3,937 yards, 28 touchdowns and six picks while garnering MVP consideration in the process.

Unfortunately, a broken leg prevented Carr from actually playing in the postseason that year, but the future looked bright with the Bakersfield, Ca. native at the helm.

Still, in spite of Carr making three straight Pro Bowls between 2015 and 2017, he has been unable to get the Raiders over the hump, which has led many to question whether or not he is truly a franchise quarterback.
