The Las Vegas Raiders' season officially came to an end on Saturday after they suffered a 26-19 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card Round. It was a bitterly disappointing loss for the Raiders, but after the game, Las Vegas quarterback Derek Carr had a very inspiring message about his squad.

Carr admitted that this Raiders side is far from the most gifted team in the league. However, the 30-year-old Raiders star is adamant that this current Raiders side stands out because of one special aspect:

“Is this the most talented team? No. But it’s the closest team I’ve been on,” Carr said, via Vic Tafur of The Athletic.

Derek Carr played okay for the Raiders on Saturday and actually had a chance to send this game to overtime deep in the fourth period. Unfortunately, the former Fresno State standout threw a fourth-down interception after leading Las Vegas down the field for what would have been a truly memorable game-tying drive. Carr went 29-of-54 passes against the Bengals for 310 yards. He also threw one touchdown in what turned out to be the Raiders' final game of the campaign.

It's a good thing Carr has built several good relationships with his teammates, as he will need all the help he can get next season as he enters a crucial contract year.
