Marshawn Lynch's return to the Seattle Seahawks was news that delighted many in the football world. Seeing Beast Mode pad up once more sent shockwaves throughout the league, including Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.

Carr didn't hide his delight that his former teammate has suited up to play football once more after not playing professionally for more than a year. However, he wished that he would be making his NFL return with his hometown Raiders instead.

Per East Bay Times' Ryan Gorcey:

“I wish it was with us,” Carr said Tuesday. “I miss that guy, but it’s good to see him back. … I love Marshawn.”

Marshawn spent the past two seasons with his hometown Raiders as a running back, but his production fell harshly in comparison to his superb six-year run with the Seahawks. It was understandable why the Raiders had no interest in re-signing Lynch after a 2018 season that saw him notch only 376 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

However, his presence in the team would have made the Raiders' final season in the city a little more bearable. He's a model citizen in Oakland, never forgetting where he came from. The way he carried himself as a pillar of the community impressed Carr and his other teammates.

He now has a chance to add to his lone Super Bowl ring with the Seahawks. While the Wild Card is not the ideal place to start your playoff run, having players like Russell Wilson on your team could more than boost your chances.

It will be a bittersweet moment for Raiders fans to watch one of their own participate in the playoffs while donning a jersey that isn't silver and black.
