The turkey will taste a little less dry for the Las Vegas Raiders on Thanksgiving Day after notching a huge victory over the Dallas Cowboys on the road.

The game needed an extra period to determine the outcome, with the Raiders running away with the 33-30 victory after kicker Daniel Carlson's 29-yard field goal. But that wouldn't have been possible if not for the penalty call on Cowboys cornerback Anthony Brown for pass interference.

After the win, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr admitted the breaks went their way, but he also took a subtle swipe at the Cowboys (via ESPN).

“The penalties obviously helped. If they weren't holding, we probably would have hit those plays.”

Carr was as smooth as mashed potatoes with 50 pounds of butter against the Cowboys, throwing 24-of-39 for 373 yards, including a 56-yard pass to wide receiver DeSean Jackson in the opening frame. He had a nip-and-tuck affair with counterpart Dak Prescott who tallied 375 yards, 209 coming in the fourth quarter.

The Raiders and Cowboys were whistled for 14 penalties each, leaving some players lamenting the officiating. Guess the referees won't get any cranberry sauces.

The Raiders won on Thanksgiving Day for the first time since 1998 and improved to 6-5 in the tight AFC West. They will return home on December 5 to host the Washington Football Team.
