The Oakland Raiders season hasn’t lived up to people’s lofty expectations prior to its start. The team is just 6-7 through 14 weeks. Nevertheless, the Raiders still have a shot at the AFC West division title, as they are just a game behind of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers in the standings.

The Raiders, however, wouldn’t be occupying just the third spot in the division’s standings had they not suffer a 26-15 loss at the hands of Kansas City last Sunday.

If you are looking for a reason why the Raiders dropped that game, Oakland quarterback Derek Carr would like you to begin pinning the blame on him.

Speaking to reporters, Carr volunteered himself to be the team’s cannon fodder, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

“Put it all on me,” Derek Carr told reporters on Wednesday. “It all starts with me. And I’ve got to do better for our team and our execution to win.”

Carr didn’t have the best of days against the Chiefs, passing for only 211 yards on 24-of-41 completions while netting just a touchdown against a couple of interceptions.

The gunslinger, however, didn’t get much help from the team’s run game, either, as the Raiders squeezed out a paltry 70 rushing yards.

Carr and the Raiders will have to find a quick fix to their woes with the season three weeks away from reaching its conclusion. Oakland will get the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday in what could possibly be the team’s last home game of the season.

The Raiders will play the Philadelphia Eagles and the L.A. Chargers on the road in Week 16 and 17, respectively.
