Once Jon Gruden officially returned as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders, the storied franchise instantly headed in another direction. Gruden wanted to sculpt the team into what he envisions as a team he can help build into a contender and he's doing it with young and veteran players.

The Raiders' most recent move involved bolstering the defensive line with the addition of Frostee Rucker, according to NFL.com.

The Raiders are signing former Cardinals defensive lineman Frostee Rucker to a one-year deal, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Rucker played for two teams prior to his reported one-year deal with the Raiders. The veteran defensive lineman played one season for the Cleveland Browns before spending five years with the Cardinals.

Along with bringing in Rucker, the Raiders also made another addition to the defensive side of the football this week by agreeing to terms with defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin. The signing was announced on Twitter by Rubin's management firm.

The 31-year-old tackle has bounced around the NFL quite a bit since being drafted out of Iowa State back in 2008. The Cleveland Browns drafted Rubin in the sixth round that year which turned out to be the first of many with the team before he signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2015.

Rubin was released two years later and spent time with the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks last season before landing with the Raiders. He's recorded 428 tackles, 15.0 sacks, six forced fumbles, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery over the course of his career.

As for Rucker, the USC product has 258 tackles, 21.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one interception.
