Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley faced as potentially serious injury in the team's Week 1 Monday Night Football matchup with AFC West division rivals Denver Broncos and, frighteningly, had to be carted off the field due to a neck injury.

After more than 24 hours of medical surveillance, though, Conley dismissed the severity of his neck injury, taking to social media to explain his current situation.

Per the 24-year-old defensive back on Twitter:

Conley was released from the hospital late Monday night, per the NFL. He had collided with teammate and rookie safety Johnathan Abram—the avid “salmon” pronouncer on HBO's Hard Knocks—in the third quarter, leading to Conley getting a blow from Abram's leg. Conley laid on the gridiron for what could be considered an eternity in viewing time while he was attended to by Oakland's medical staff and later carted off.

The Raiders selected Conley with their first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft after the corner left Ohio State. In his second season in the NFL and with the Raiders, Conley recorded three interceptions and 37 combined tackles in 15 games played.

Oakland won their season-opening matchup against the Broncos, making a statement in the immediate aftermath of All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown's controversial release.
