Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III is officially active for Monday night's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Ian Rapoport reported the rookie, who had previously been listed as questionable with a knee injury, is expected to play as the Raiders hope to improve to 2-0 in their first game at the brand-new Allegiant Stadium.

The first-round pick had a solid debut in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers, catching three of his five targets for 55 yards and also receiving a pair of carries for the Raiders.

Ruggs was the first receiver off the board this past April, which came as something of a surprise to draft analysts. However, the Raiders are hoping the burner can emerge as a top quarterback for Derek Carr, especially after Tyrell Williams suffered a season-ending injury prior to the start of the year.

The former Alabama product's health was something of a question heading into Raiders camp. Ruggs injured his thigh in an off-field incident in June, and it remained to be seen whether he would be fully healthy when camp started.

However, Ruggs recovered in time to take the field in Week 1 for the Raiders, and he has apparently overcome this latest setback ahead of a marquee matchup with the Saints.

The Raiders are hoping to improve upon a 2019 season that saw them go 7-9 and finish third in the AFC West.

Las Vegas figures to resort to a heavy dose of Josh Jacobs throughout the season, though Derek Carr will be counting on the likes of Ruggs and tight end Darren Waller to create steady separation and facilitate gains in the passing game.
