Slowly but surely, the Las Vegas Raiders are filling up the holes in their offensive and defensive rotations. The latest piece to the Raiders' puzzle was rookie wideout Henry Ruggs III. He now joins sophomore running back Josh Jacobs in their journey of bringing the team back to relevance.

According to a recent article posted by NBC Sports, Jacobs is already trying to challenge ahead of his rookie season with the Raiders:

“He always kept it real with me and told me what I needed to do and the right mindset to have [at Alabama],” Ruggs said during a Thursday video conference. “When he was here we had a little contact. He knows what I can do, and he told me to come in [to the Raiders] with the same mindset, put my head down and work.”

Josh Jacobs was drafted by the then Oakland Raiders with the 24th pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. His explosive running game stood out in a subpar Raiders offense and went on to have an impressive rookie season in the professional ranks.

In Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Jacobs rushed 17 times for 104 yards in the 40-9 loss. During the game, Jacobs became the first running back in Raiders' history to rush for 1,000 yards in a rookie season. He went on to cap his rookie campaign with a total of 1,150 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

On the other hand, Ruggs was picked by the team to be the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The 21-year old player was fresh from concluding his three-year run with the Nick Saban-led Alabama Crimson Tide. From 2017 to 2019, amassed a total of 98 receptions for 1,716 yards and scored 24 touchdowns.

In the upcoming season, the duo will be looking to carry the team on the offensive side of the field and power through to improve from a 7-9 record last season. The Raiders will make their 2020 debut as they visit the Carolina Panthers on September 13 at the Bank of America Stadium.
