Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio is sick of the team playing it safe. Instead of playing football cautiously, he prefer the Raiders to go out each Sunday with their collective hair on fire.

Figuratively speaking, of course.

“I think that there have been many examples throughout the season where we have not played boldly to go make the plays,” Del Rio said, via the San Jose Mercury News. “I would really like to see that … if you go halfway, it’s not good enough anyway. So I’d love to just see us just let it rip, OK, and go play. Talked about hair on fire, talked about the kind of effort and energy, playing fast, that’s what I believe in — and I’d love to see it more often.”

Jack Del Rio also said he was “frustrated and pissed off” about the way the team played and called on them to take a more aggressive approach against the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday night.

For what it is worth, and it is a ton, Del Rio is the head coach of the Raiders. While known as a defensive-minded coach, he can literally force his offensive play caller to be more aggressive. He can change the thing he is talking about with just a few words to one of his underlings.
