The Oakland Raiders decided to make a bold move after the 2017 campaign was officially over with the team parting ways with head coach Jack Del Rio and immediately getting work on bringing back Jon Gruden.

Although Gruden hasn't coached since 2009, owner Mark Davis was intent on locking him up long-term, and it seems as though the coach's message and vision for the future is being embraced by everyone on the squad, according to tight end Jared Cook via Michael Gehlken of Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“I think he definitely has guys buying in,” Cook said. “I mean, I bought in for sure because he knows what he’s talking about, and you can tell a difference in a coach that knows what he’s talking about and a coach that does not. He knows what he’s talking about.”

Gruden signed an unprecedented 10-year, $100 million deal with the Raiders back in January. A bold move to say the least with coaches in the NFL being lucky to secure five-year deals and still be employed after the first two seasons.

Despite the risk, Gruden has a lot of his players singing his praises as he tries to right the ship in Oakland. Star quarterback Derek Carr has been among Gruden's biggest supporters and for good reason considering the head coach plans to build around the perennial Pro Bowler.

As for Cook, the veteran tight end is coming off one of his best seasons in the NFL. Cook played all 16 games for the Raiders last season catching a career-high 54 passes for 688 yards and two touchdowns.
