The Las Vegas Raiders put together a tremendous rookie class in the 2019 NFL Draft. It appears one of their key pieces in safety Johnathan Abram is now on track to make his presence felt.

Abram's rookie year was cut short with a season-ending shoulder injury. General manager Mike Mayock says he has already made a full recovery, via Levi Damien of the Raiders Wire:

“He’s 100% right now, he’s ready to go,” Mike Mayock said in an interview with NFL Network at the Scouting Combine Friday. “If he stays healthy this year we’re going to have a difference-maker on the back end.”

This is certainly an encouraging update for Abram since it indicates that he will likely be good to go once the team begins their offseason activities. The Raiders made quite the investment when they took him with the 27th overall pick in last year's draft, and he had managed to make waves during training camp and the preseason with bis physicality. He put together a strong NFL debut until it was revealed that he had suffered a torn rotator cuff and labrum during the game.

Although this left the team with some major holes to fill over the top, it did give Abram ample time to get back to 100 percent. He was admittedly anxious to get back onto the field after watching his fellow rookies make such a huge impact early on. There is no question that Mayock will be expecting him to do the same in the 2020 NFL season.
