Jon Gruden and Derek Carr were hoping to turn the Oakland Raiders back into Super Bowl contenders this season, but things have gone completely in the opposite direction. This week against the Arizona Cardinals, Oakland has looked a little better offensively, but the frustration is still extremely obvious.

As shared by TAJI. on Twitter, Gruden and Carr got into a verbal argument on the sidelines following an ugly three-and-out series.

While the argument didn't seem to get too heated, this is certainly something to note. Carr has struggled in a big way this season and Gruden has not been happy with the way his quarterback has performed.

Oakland is currently 1-8 on the season and are headed for yet another high draft pick. They have shifted into a bit of a rebuilding period with the trades of Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper for first-round picks.

Just a few short years ago, Carr looked like one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. He was even an MVP candidate and the Raiders were a serious contender in the AFC. Those years seem so far behind at this point in time.

Gruden and company will need to get things figured out in house moving forward. Carr has received a lot of support from the front office and coaching staff as the quarterback of the future, but this is something to keep an eye on.

At the time of this writing, the Raiders and Cardinals are tied at 14 apiece late in the first half.
