New head coach Jon Gruden is doing everything within his power to right the ship for the Oakland Raiders during the NFL offseason. The one-time Super Bowl champion has made a lot of moves in a short amount of time, and he's already liking the way things are shaping up, especially at the wide receiver position.

Outside of Amari Cooper, Gruden has completely revamped the roster at wideout with the additions of Jordy Nelson, Martavis Bryant, Ryan Switzer, and rookie Marcel Ateman out of Oklahoma State. The team also parted ways with Michael Crabtree, Cordarrelle Patterson, and are rumored to have put Seth Roberts on the trading block.

With all these changes and intriguing additions at wide receiver, Gruden is excited for what will be a competitive battle throughout training camp and the preseason, via Scott Bair of NBC Sports.

“We’ve got a competitive situation here at wide receiver,” Gruden said. “So I like that.”

At this point, Nelson and Cooper are the cream of the crop at the position in Oakland. Gruden will almost certainly lean heavily on both of these players to be quarterback Derek Carr's best options in the passing game next season.

However, the rest of the players on the roster at wide receiver will be competing for that third spot on the depth chart. Bryant is the obvious choice right now, but that could change leading up to the regular-season opener depending on the results of the training camp.

It'll be interesting to see how everything pans out in Oakland once the season gets underway in September. Gruden isn't afraid to make drastic changes as he tries to get this franchise back on track after a disappointing 2017 campaign.
