The Oakland Raiders made the move to acquire wide receiver Zay Jones from the Buffalo Bills. After the Antonio Brown situation didn't work out and some injury issues so far this season, the Raiders wanted to add more weapons for quarterback Derek Carr.

Jones, who was drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, has not lived up to his potential so far. Buffalo decided to give him up in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.

Jon Gruden is excited to get to work with his new wide receiver. He plans to get Jones up to speed during the team's bye week, as noted by the East Bay Times.

“He was a very productive guy in college,” Gruden said. “Played in the slot, played split end and flanker. Tough guy. Smart. I just think he’s got a lot of natural skills that are really well worth looking in to. I’m going to teach Zay Jones some plays today and I’m going to come in tomorrow and teach Zay Jones some more plays.”

In the five games he spent in Buffalo, Jones ended up catching seven passes for 69 yards. Last season, Jones ended up catching 56 passes for 652 yards and seven touchdowns.

There is no doubt that Jones has a ton of potential and perhaps Gruden is the guy that can get that out of him. If Jones is able to develop into his full potential, the Raiders are going to have gotten a steal with this trade.

Either way, we should get our first look at Jones with Oakland in Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers.
