It could just be coach-speak, but Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden appears to be thrilled with the work wide receiver Zay Jones is putting in.

How do I know this? Tickle me glad you asked, pal. He literally said as much. Heck, even said he is literally rooting for the guy.

“I would say his ceiling is untapped,” Jon Gruden said about the Raiders WR, via W.G. Ramirez of the Associated Press. “He’s taking advantage of these opportunities. … “I’m rooting for him, I’m really happy for him because nobody has work harder than him.”

Whenever Gruden fixates on a guy, that player tends to get a lot of run. Given that Zay Jones is taking advantage of them, maybe it means he will play a prominent rule for the team in the upcoming National Football League season.

While it was only one Raiders preseason game, Jones is looking all sorts of delightful. On just 13 snaps against the Seattle Seahawks, Jones snagged three passes for 57 yards.

There's other reason to believe the Raiders found themselves a sneaky gem on the outside. Zay Jones isn't some random unknown. While injuries have taken over large parts of his career, he caught 56 passes for 652 yards and seven touchdowns in his best season ever for the Buffalo Bills.
