It's been several weeks since the Las Vegas Raiders fired Jon Gruden. However, the former head coach has filed a lawsuit against the NFL, putting Rodger Goodell in a tricky spot.

According to Tom Pelissero, “Jon Gruden is suing the NFL and Rodger Goodell in Nevada district court, alleging they sought to destroy Gruden's career and reputation through a ‘malicious and orchestrated campaign' that led to his resignation last month.”

During the NFL's investigation on the Washington Football team, over 600,000 emails were looked over. Jon Gruden's emails including racial and homophobic remarks were the only ones that brought any sort of discipline.

Pelissero goes on to share a statement made by Gruden's attorney, Adam Hosmer-Henner. Based on what Hosmer-Henner claims, the former Raiders head coach might have a solid reasoning for suing the NFL and Rodger Goodell.

Raiders owner Mark Davis was critical of the NFL's handling of Jon Gruden's situation. Of course, the departure from the team wasn't an issue, as racism and homophobia are not tolerable. However, the timing of it all seems a bit odd. The NFL had this information on Gruden months before the start of the season but waited until Week 4 to release any of the details.

We'll see how this plays out, as this is just the beginning of what could become a giant mess for the NFL. Considering the Washington Football Team was under investigation for their own problems, it's odd that the Raiders and Jon Gruden are receiving the blunt end of the punishment.

There seems to be certain information not being shared, but that is all speculation for now. The Raiders have been in a whirlwind of off-the-field issues this season and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
