The Las Vegas Raiders just got their behinds handed to them on Sunday by the Atlanta Falcons. Fans are looking for someone to release their frustration on. Head coach Jon Gruden was the first to step up and took complete ownership of the embarrassing L. It was a massacre in Atlanta as Matt Ryan and the rest of the Falcons took care of business and stamped their class on Gruden's visiting squad.

“I’d like to apologize to the Raider Nation and compliment the Falcons. They played a hell of a football game, and we did not. The turnovers. The penalties. Inexcusable, and it’s a reflection of me. We’re a lot better team than that.” Gruden said (via Yahoo!)

After the Falcons' placekicker Younghoe Koo opened the match with two field goals in the first quarter, the Raiders' woes continued to pile up as Derek Carr and his offense couldn't get anything going. Thing is, their defense wasn't working either. They gave up 43 points and even had 11 penalties for to hand the Falcons 141 penalty yards. That's all historic numbers for the Raiders.

“When we got hit in the mouth with the 4th-and-1, the stop. Then we fumble the next play. We’ve got to get off the mat and fight back better as a coaching staff and as a football team. That’s something that we’ve got to take a look at. Like I said, it’s a reflection of me. I apologize to the Raider fans.” Gruden added.

Prior to this match, the Raiders were slowly getting in a groove and cementing their spot behind the defending champions Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. A potential win against the Falcons would've been huge for them to help them with their playoff push but unfortunately, they just couldn't muster enough to put up a decent fight on Sunday.

The Raiders have a chance to bounce back against the winless New York Jets on Week 13. Hopefully, Gruden and the rest of the Raiders show up in New York.
